Intel® Cache Acceleration Software (CAS) Installation Kit
This installation kit provides all required modules to add support for the Intel® Cache Acceleration Software (CAS). This kit includes all the required RPM packages for installing and utilizing Intel® CAS in addition to documentation. The documentation includes Intel® CAS Administration guide and Release Notes which will be installed in the following directory: /usr/share/doc/packages/Intel-CAS/
Important Note: Please review the Release Notes and the Administration Guide prior to deploying CAS in a production environment, especially within a Ceph cluster such as SUSE Enterprise Storage (SES).

Installation
Add-on installation
This driver kit can be installed as an "add-on" product during the installation of SUSE Linux Enterprise Server or post installation as described in the following sections of the SUSE Linux Enterprise Server Deployment Guide1
- During Installation: Section 6.10. Installation Mode
- Post Installation: Section 10.1. Installing Add-On Products
In both cases the installation can be done by burning the contents of the ISO image to optical media, or copying the contents to other removable media, local directory, or network location and pointing YaST to the appropriate URI.
On systems with access to drivers.suse.com, the online repository hosted here can be used to install the driver kit by using the following URL as a SUSE Linux Enterprise add-on product:
https://drivers.suse.com/intel/Intel-CAS/sle-12-sp3-x86_64/1.0/install
Package / Repository Signing Key
This driver kit repository and the packages included are digitally signed for integrity verification.
During installation the installer may ask to import an "untrusted key". This key is the public SUSE SolidDriver Program key (formally known as PLDP) used to verify the packages.

Reboot
After installation of the driver kit add-on product, a reboot is not required.

To update the Intel CAS packages you can run the following command:
# zypper up Intel-CAS-kmp-default
Important Note: If you are upgrading from one SUSE service pack to another (for example SLES12-SP2 to SLES12-SP3), it may be required to uninstall CAS prior to the upgrade. Once the Operating System is upgraded you can install the version of CAS appropriate for that SLES service pack. Please refer to the Intel CAS Administration Guide for further details.
